Some facts
»Every time we have made progress at IBM, it was because someone was willing to take a risk, stick their neck out and try something new.«
(Thomas John Watson, until 1956 Chairman of the Board of IBM)
RiskNET® is the leading independent German-language competence center and knowledge pool for all aspects of risk management and compliance. RiskNET has more than three million page impressions per month. RiskNET is based on a network and thrives on the dialog with top-class experts from science and practice. The RiskNET eLibrary contains specialist articles with a total of more than 50,000 pages.
RiskNET has been offering intensive seminars and practical workshops via the Risk Academy® for more than 25 years. More than 25,000 participants have attended the consistently practice-oriented seminars to date (as of January 2025). The Risk Academy seminars are characterized by the right mix of sound methodological knowledge, illustrative examples and case studies as well as tips for concrete implementation in practice.
The number of visitors and page views has multiplied since 1998. Today we have more than 400,000 visitors per month. From a few tens of thousands of page views in the founding year, we now have around 3,100,000 page views per month.
The idea of RiskNET has been based on the basic idea of networks since it was founded in 1998, long before the age of social networks. They are flexible, effective, efficient, viable and adaptable. Our engine is the Internet. RiskNET has no central point, but is organized decentrally. And you are a part (a node, so to speak) of this network. Network laws follow binary logic. Either you are in the network - which is necessary for its existence - or you are out.
Marissa Ann Mayer (CEO at Yahoo until June 2017, Google until 2012) explained how networks work as follows: “If you share information, you have power. Share everything with everyone. The more valuable your information is, the better. If you share something, you build a network. A network leads to collaboration, collaboration leads to creativity and innovation - and they change the world.”
Who's behind RiskNET?
Frank Romeike is the initiator and founder of the RiskNET competence portal, the Risk Management Association e.V. and the magazine RISKNEWS. In recent years, RiskNET has been supported by many “networkers” from the world of risk and compliance management.
